The Electricity Company of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Grid Company have announced a new Dumsor timetable for a section of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The load shedding is expected to span over a set 22 days within which maintenance and repair will be taking place

The new loadshedding timetable will be take effect from Monday, June 22, 2021 to Monday, July 19, 2021 between the hours of 6pm and 12am midnight.

This is an effort to facilitate the work of contractors as part of projects to improve power supply reliability and system voltages.

The ECG made this known in a press statement on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. The loadshedding is to expedite the completion of the construction works and maintenance on some bulk supply points and transmission cables in Accra.

“In this regard, load to the trasacco bulk supply point (BSP) will be managed to enable the construction of Volta, Accra East and Achimota substations and to complete the stringing and commissioning of a new double-circuit 161KV Volta-Achimota transmission line.”

However, President Akufo-Addo has assured the nation that this is not the return of Dumsor although several loadshedding activities have taken place in different cities across the country. He reiterated that it was as a result of maintenance works by Gridco so we can have a robust electricity system
