UPSA-SRC VICE PRESIDENT IS ALL CLEAN:-Simeon Mede(Deputy Speaker of UPSASRC GA)

Under the second edition of who watches the watchman, the office of the Deputy Speaker of the UPSA General Assembly release a letter or press dated 12th May, 2020. The office of the Deputy Speaker says the UPSASRC VICE PRESIDENT is clean, he was not involve in any of the activities that went on.
This was what he said:

“STATEMENT ON MY ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT IN A SCHOOL FEES ISSUE
WITH A COLLEAGUE STUDENT.
My attention has been drawn to some WhatsApp audios and images making the rounds on some WhatsApp platforms concerning my involvement with a colleague student in an alleged transaction alleged to be fees payment.
First of all, I must make it clear that I had several conversations with students with regards to the Student Aid Fund with reference to the content making the rounds. I admit my conversation with the student. Meanwhile, I must make it also clear that the intention behind having such a conversation with that colleague was not done with any ill intent in regards to what has been alleged and put out there. I was trying my best in my capacity as a colleague to assist settle her fees before the registration deadline. Since this gesture seems to conflict with my official position as the Welfare Committee Chairman, I humbly apologize for having such a conversation with the student.
Secondly, it is necessary to also establish that, my mention of the SRC Vice President to be in the known of my conversation with the colleague is misrepresented and untrue , and should be disregarded. My office as the Welfare committee Chairman stands without any form of direct involvement of the SRC Vice President but he only performs supervisory role. Mentioning his name in my conversation was only done to merely give credence to my words with the person I was having the conversation with. In that regard, I would want to also use this medium to apologize to Mr. Nathaniel Addo Junior (JiL) the SRC Vice President for drawing him into what can be described as a private conversation.
At the appropriate time, I will come out with the integral content of the story on what actually transpired between myself and the person I had this conversation with, and what the full story entails. I am very sorry for any inconvenience my actions might have created to the entire student populace.’’
